National Literacy Awards 2016

Labis ang kasiyahan ng mga delegadong lokal na pamahalaan ng Marilao matapos masungkit ang ikaapat na pwesto bilang Outstanding Local Government Unit, 1st Class Municipality sa National Literacy Awards 2016.

 

Isinagawa ang kompetisyon sa SEAMO INNOTECH, Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City noong Disyembre 8, 2016. Sa panayam kay Mayor Juanito Santiago sa kabila ng pagiging isang maliit na bayan maswerteng napasakamay nila ang prestihiyosong award. Kasama sa mga kategorya ay ang LGU-highly urbanized city, LGU-class A municipality, LGU-class B municipality at iba pa.

 

Si Mayor Juanito Santiago, DepEd Supervisor Maria Neriza Fanuncio, at ALS Provincial Head Jun Carpio ang nanguna sa pagtanggap ng tropeo galing Literacy Coordinating Council at ang cash prize. Ang search for outstanding implementers ng national literacy program ay proyekto ng Literacy Coordinating Council (LCC), isang inter-agency body nakaagapay ng Department of Education (DepEd) na may layuning; to identify and adopt ways and measures to strengthen partnership between the local government and the community in literacy programs, to enable participation in development effort for the community, to generate and share ideas and experiences on literacy good practices.
